1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SecureVault ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
SecureVault provides a zero-knowledge encrypted memo storage service. All content is encrypted client-side before transmission. We cannot access, read, or recover your encrypted content or passwords.
3. Account Registration
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activities under your account.
4. User Responsibilities
4.1 Password Security
IMPORTANT: You are solely responsible for your encryption passwords. We do not store your passwords and cannot recover them. Lost passwords mean permanently lost data. This is by design for your security.
4.2 Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for illegal purposes
- Attempt to bypass security measures
- Interfere with the Service's operation
- Share accounts with unauthorized users
- Reverse engineer the Service
5. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding user content), is owned by SecureVault, Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws.
6. User Content
You retain ownership of content you create. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store your encrypted content on our servers. We cannot and do not access your decrypted content.
7. Payment and Subscriptions
Paid features require a valid subscription. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase for annual plans.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED SERVICE OR DATA RECOVERY. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SECUREVAULT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SecureVault from claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for Terms violations. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your encrypted data will be deleted.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
13. Dispute Resolution
Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in San Francisco, CA, except for injunctive relief which may be sought in court.
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of material changes.
