LegalVault Usage Guide

LegalVault encrypts and securely stores legal documents, providing digital notarization and sealing features. Safely manage contracts, wills, certificates, and more.

Step 1: Access LegalVault

Select 'LegalVault' from the 'Products' menu or enter /legal in the address bar. Login is required.

Step 2: Create a Document

Click 'New Document'. Enter the title, type (contract/will/certificate/other), and content. Setting an encryption password encrypts the document with AES-256-GCM.

Step 3: Seal and Notarize

Sealing a document records its hash to prevent tampering. Sealed documents cannot be modified, ensuring integrity. Anyone can verify document authenticity at /legal/verify.

Step 4: Search and Manage

Search and filter documents by title and type. Check each document's status (draft/sealed). Draft documents can still be edited.

Step 5: Secure Sharing

Create secure share links from the document detail page. Set expiration and password to restrict access. Recipients access documents via token-based URLs (/l/[token]).

Step 6: Document Verification

Enter a document hash at /legal/verify to verify sealed document integrity. This feature is available without login, allowing third-party authentication.

LegalVault Tips

  • -Always seal important contracts to prevent tampering.
  • -Set expiration when sharing to block unnecessary access.
  • -Keep sealed document hashes separately as evidence for disputes.
